Dearly beloved,
God promises to answer our prayers. When a righteous man prays fervently, God answers his prayer. The Bible states, “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective” (James 5:16).
Sometimes, when we face certain problems, we may feel like crying our heart out. Instead, when we start thanking Him even in such situations and tell Him, “Lord, how good you have been in my life and how many good things You’ve given me! I thank you with a grateful heart,” then His blessings will come in search of us.
When we pray, filled with fear and reverence for Him, He will answer our prayers. The Bible says clearly, "He listens to the godly man who does his will” (John 9:31).
Once, a great preacher went to Mombasa in Kenya for preaching where he was warmly welcomed by a woman. Every day, she would take him by her car from his hotel room to the meeting venue and extend warm hospitality to him. Since it was a hot summer in Kenya, the preacher’s dress always got damp because of profuse sweating. This woman offered to take his soiled dress, wash it for him and return it to him after pressing. He too agreed and she did this every day.
The preacher was touched by her kind gesture and was grateful to her. But he was ignorant of the actual reason for her kind deed. This woman’s husband was a ruthless criminal and was frequently put in the prison. So believing that her husband would be transformed if he touched the sweat in the preacher’s dress, this woman had been keeping the soiled dress beneath her husband’s bed. What a wonder! Within a few days, she noticed a transformation in her husband who gradually started repenting for his terrible sins.
Ultimately, the husband became a great preacher who proclaimed the Lord’s love to others. What an amazing faith! Every day, she prayed fervently for her husband to be saved somehow and did this good deed with faith.
Lord Jesus did many miracles when He was sojourning on this earth. Two blind men followed Him crying out, "Son of David, have mercy on us!" Then He touched their eyes saying, "According to your faith let it be to you” (Matthew 9:27-29). Likewise, He did a miracle for the above mentioned woman too.
The Bible states, “The prayer of the upright pleases him” (Proverbs 15:8). Accordingly, our godly prayer will certainly bring down the answer from heaven. The Lord assures, “Before they call, I will answer; And while they are still speaking, I will hear” (Isaiah 65:24).
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
You have promised to answer our prayers. I offer my prayer to You with reverence. I thank You for all the good things You have given me. I seek to do your will. Let my godly prayer be pleasing to You and bring down answer from heaven. Let your blessings come in search of me.
In Your matchless name I pray.
Amen.
